Kami Pothukuchi
Distinguished Service Professor, Department of Urban Studies and Planning

Kami Pothukuchi is Distinguished Service Professor of Urban Studies and Planning at Wayne State University. Her research explores the local linkages between the food system and the economy, the built and natural environment, health, and equity and justice. A founding past member of the Detroit Food Policy Council, she has written about urban agriculture, food retail, food planning and policy, and campus initiatives related to sustainable food systems. She is the founding director of SEED Wayne, a campus-community sustainable food system collaborative in Detroit, and a lead author of the American Planning Association's Community and Regional Food Planning Policy Guide.
