My name is William "Billy" Wall-Winkel and I am an Assistant Curator and Oral Historian for the Detroit Historical Society. I received my Bachelor's Degree in History from Wayne State University. My focus is on 20th Century America with an emphasis on Detroit, race relations, and urban farming. Through my work at the Society, I managed the Detroit 67 Oral History Project with captured the memories of over 500 Detroiters who experienced the 67 Uprising firsthand. Currently, my work focuses on chronicling life in Detroit's neighborhoods and documenting how the city's transition is affecting "Legacy Detroiters." To further my work, I am pursuing my Master's Degree in Public History at Wayne State University.
