Access Yourself: The Imagination Audit

Kurzthese

What are 'diverse ways of thinking?' How can artistic intelligence help leaders produce innovative, imaginative ways of addressing 'wicked problems' or systemic issues?

Imagination is not one skill or muscle, but a system of capacities for perception, sensing, discernment, insight, activity, choice-making, and divergent synthesis. This interactive talk offers ways to think about a community or team's aggregate breadth of imagination, and suggests how artistic intelligence can catalyze more.

Beschreibung

This interactive talk is a condensed version of a full-length workshop. It's for anyone who wonders:

  • How radically imaginative are the teams that you work with?
  • How can imagination be supported and developed, in conjunction with ‘design thinking?’
  • How might artists and artistic processes enable more possibilities in your work?

By the end of this session, you will have created your own 'practicing possibilities' exercise, be more aware of the characteristics of each other’s imaginations, and understand how artistic intelligence relates to core innovation competencies.

Created by artist-researcher helen yung, the Imagination Audit draws on over 15 years of professional artistic practice, and 7 years of theory-informed, practice-based research in the relationship between art, the body, imagination, multiple intelligences, growth, and innovation.
